This Kagoshima Matcha was just the thing I was looking for! I was searching high and low for matcha in large quantities and I finally found Wakokoro. Being able to see the full catalog and all the selections they had was incredible and all of the little goodies that came with my order really put a smile on my face. Super satisfied!

I think the Yame no Mukashi matcha is at a great price point for a quality matcha. To me, it was medium-bodied and was more vegetal than nutty compared to other matchas from the yame region. The flavors mellowed out beautifully in a latte and can be had without sweetener. There was minimal astringency and bitterness, making the experience so enjoyable. Their hojicha is also at a great price. The hojicha itself smelled toasty and frothed up nicely. It was a bit powdery in taste than other hojichas, but I enjoyed the roasty profile. It felt like a middle between light and dark roast.

Between Yame no Mukashi and Wakei I love them both, but i kinda like Wakei better with my matcha latte! Great quality!

lately, i’ve been making my mornings slower with this Uji no Mukashi ceremonial grade matcha.
it has a smooth and creamy texture with a fresh vegetal taste and a light natural sweetness that makes it really easy to enjoy. the flavor feels balanced. rich in umami without being too bitter, especially as an iced latte. definitely one of those matchas that feels calming and comforting with every sip 💖

for me Wakokoro's Yame no Mukashi is smooth, naturally sweet, and easy to enjoy. also great for everyday lattes and super beginner-friendly.
