At Wakokoro Tea, we believe that exceptional tea begins with the people who grow it — and that preserving their craft is essential to the future of Japanese tea.
We partner directly with skilled, small-scale tea producers across Japan, from the misty hills of Uji and the sun-drenched plateaus of Shizuoka to the lush mountains of Kagoshima. These farmers are the guardians of centuries-old traditions, growing and crafting tea with deep care, precision, and pride. Through these close relationships, we ensure traceability, honest sourcing, and unmatched freshness.
But Wakokoro Tea is more than just a tea brand — it is a movement to revitalize Japan’s tea industry. As rural tea farms face aging populations, declining demand, and global competition, we aim to support sustainable growth by connecting producers directly with tea lovers around the world. Every purchase helps keep these traditions alive and supports the next generation of tea makers.
We don’t just offer authentic Japanese tea — we share the people, places, and purpose behind it.
Let customers speak for us
from 290 reviewsGreat, ran out of my 20gs so got this and it’s great.
Very cute and useful bowl
This matcha was the best, most toecurling and most coochiepopping matcha i have ever drank in my entire life. DON‘T HESITATE PERIOD.
Timely delivery and yummy products
fast delivery. excellent quality
I’ve tried both Uji no Mukashi and Yame no Mukashi, and while Uji no Mukashi was very good, Yame no Mukashi stood out to me flavor-wise.
I just had Yame no Mukashi again and wow — it’s incredible. I used about 4 g because I love my matcha vibrant green, strong, and mixed with plenty of milk. I enjoy a stronger matcha for the caffeine kick, but you could definitely use less and still get a beautiful, balanced cup.
From the moment I opened the tin, the naturally sweet, soft aroma was noticeable. The taste is super smooth, rich, flavorful, and naturally sweet, with no bitterness at all. Very creamy and clearly high quality.
This is the one I personally prefer and would definitely buy again 🤍🍵
Wow — I just had this matcha and I’m honestly blown away. I used about 4 g because I love my matcha vibrant green, strong, and mixed with plenty of milk. I prefer it on the stronger side since I enjoy the caffeine kick, but you could definitely use less and still get an amazing flavor.
The moment I opened the tin, I noticed this naturally sweet, gentle aroma. Taste-wise it’s incredible: super smooth, rich, flavorful, and naturally sweet, with zero bitterness. Very creamy and clearly high quality.
This is a matcha I would 100% buy again. Absolutely delicious 🤍🍵
I was so pleasantly surpised when i tried it. I was expecting it to take longer to ship, since its all the way from Japan, but it delivered quite fast! The flavor is great and theres little to no bitterness at all, and is great for lattes :3
True to price and quality. It was worth ordering.
I recommend it. It's really good, fragrant, flavorful and not bitter. I love it 💖
I really enjoyed the matcha I got from jj mart it’s very affordable and tastes great will definitely shop again soon :)
I really enjoyed this matcha it’s great if you make lattes and want a everyday matcha, $10 ( plus the shipping) for 100g of matcha is amazing I definitely would repurchase this one and try the other matcha as well!
