Yame Matcha Yame no Tsuki

Yame no Tsuki (八女の月) is a rare powdered gyokuro from Yame, Fukuoka. Ground like matcha but made from gyokuro leaves, it reaches a depth of sweetness and umami that ordinary matcha rarely touches.

Expect an exceptionally rich umami with a striking natural sweetness, virtually no bitterness, and a very fine powder that whisks into a smooth, full-bodied bowl. Enjoy it exactly as you would matcha — as Usucha, Koicha, or an indulgent latte.

Note: Strictly speaking, this is a gyokuro powder rather than matcha. It can be prepared and enjoyed in exactly the same way as matcha.
