I've tried a few matchas from Wakokoro, particularly Gion, Sagano, Iwakura, Yame No Hana, Uji No Mukashi and Yame no Mukashi. Iwakura is supposedly part of the Signature line. However, I was very disappointed that it was the WORST of the lot. It was chalky/powdery. Did i get a bad batch? The free matcha Sui was also powdery. Sadly, I wasted my money on it. My fav was surprisingly Yame No Hana. Even the more expensive ones were not as memorable.
Soooo yummy!! Made a delicious iced latte. Here’s my notes on flavor/presentation: no bitterness, a darker green color, mild umami flavor, mild sweet notes, a nutty and slightly creamy taste. The texture is great as well, No clumping or chalky dust at the bottom of my drink. For the price point you really cannot go wrong with Yame no Hana! Overall 9.2/10
Definitely my go-to refreshing drink! The matcha compliments well with the yuzu and pairs perfectly with soda water. Tried mine with osmanthus syrup and it was really refreshing and bright! Will definitely repurchase this one for sure
As soon as you open the tin, the vibrant color and fine grind stand out—the powder is so fine and smooth it almost looks wet. The taste is unique and true to the description, with a distinct toasty, nutty note that surprisingly reminds me of coffee. It makes a fantastic, rich latte, though I wouldn't recommend it for fruity or heavily flavored matcha drinks where that profile might clash. Very satisfied with the quality!
