Experience the enduring craftsmanship of Tokoname-yaki with this beautifully crafted Kyusu teapot. Tokoname, one of Japan’s Six Ancient Kilns, has a ceramic tradition spanning over 1,000 years since the late Heian period. Renowned for its exceptional quality and artistry, Tokoname-yaki remains one of Japan’s most respected pottery traditions and was officially designated as a Traditional Craft of Japan in 1976.

This elegant Kyusu combines centuries of Japanese ceramic heritage with practical functionality, making it an ideal companion for everyday tea enjoyment.

Key Features

Traditional Tokoname Craftsmanship

Produced in Tokoname, one of Japan’s most celebrated pottery regions, this teapot reflects a thousand years of ceramic expertise and cultural heritage.

Stainless Steel Tea Strainer

Equipped with a durable stainless steel mesh strainer, this Kyusu is particularly suitable for fine-leaf deep-steamed Japanese teas (Fukamushi Sencha). The fine mesh effectively filters small tea particles for a smooth and enjoyable cup.

Perfect Size for Two Servings

With a capacity of approximately 200ml, this teapot is ideal for brewing two cups of tea, based on a serving size of 100ml per person.

Unique Carbonized Black Finish

The teapot is crafted from traditional iron-rich Shudei clay. After the initial firing at 1100°C, it undergoes a secondary carbonization firing at 800°C, transforming the clay into its distinctive black finish. The materials contain no harmful substances and are safe for everyday use.

Comfortable and Functional Design

Designed for ease of use, the lightweight body and side handle allow for precise pouring, helping you brew Japanese tea with confidence and control.
